| Nuts and Bolts
Some people use nutserts and threadserts on
transmission tunnel.
[Mike] I got mine from Eastwood. http://www.eastwoodco.com
[U] "Harbor Freight has them for cheap.
They call them threadserts like Eastwood. Like I said the kit is
cheap, and so are the threadserts themselves. I bought some better
ones from www.nutty.com
the Nutty company. Their threadserts are much better quality than
came with the cheap kit and priced less than Eastwood. I plan on
using these on the tranny tunnel."
[CD] "Any place listed that sells fasteners
should carry thread-serts. Every thing attached to my Cobra has been
done with a glued in place thread-sert. Marson Corporation 44
Campanelli Parkway Stoughton, MA 02072. Tel: 800-343-9664"
[AD] "I bought the tool and assorted kit
from Uncle Nutty and it works well:
http://www.nutty.com/threatsert.html
they also sell nutcerts at Pegassus Racing
http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/
But the install tool is just a bolt with a
metal sleeve. Probably ok for a few inserts, but the rivet like hand
tool is superior for volume work."
"AND ...just did a search at McMaster for
the word 'threaded insert' and they have many types and styles
http://www.mcmaster.com
AND found one more. Fastenal also has them but
their site is a tough one to navigate
