Stewart Transport arrives with number
3035 and 3036 near Houston. Stewart did a great job! (click the pictures to enlarge.) |

Unloading the windshield and FFR boxes. |

Wow! These boxes will make two cars?
|

Galt's first ride "with" a
Cobra? Notice my wife's civilized car on the right... she
say's that she'll follow me with her air-conditioning, power
windows, and still keep up! Yeah... right! |

We couldn't get the semi-truck back to
the shop because of the trees, so we loaded the cars onto a trailer
and used my Jeep to back them into the garage. |

3035 loaded on the trailer, now we have
to back it into the garage. |

Unloading 3035 from the Stewart
trailer. Be sure to get a lot of people to help if you unload
any kits! |

I had to take the body off of the
chassis because we didn't have enough people to lift the whole
thing. |

Galt and I ordered our donor pallets from All
Mustang in Phoenix. We're still debating over the deal we got.
Was it a good deal or should we have striped some wrecked Mustang's
ourselves? In any case, we were in a hurry and didn't have the time
to locate a couple of wrecked Mustang's and then stripe the parts for the
build, so maybe this was the best way. All Mustang did not send us
what we thought we were ordering, but so far he's been pretty good about
working with us on the missing or bad parts. Anyway, the jury
is still out if I would recommend All Mustang to anyone. I'll let
you know once we have finished the build.
October 17, 2001 - Here are some pictures
of our build progress. Carl's been a great help and really
putting us through a work out. 14 days after our cars arrived, we're
about ready to install the engines. The total man-hours so far is
about 150, which included a lot of time cleaning the donor parts, and
completely going through the engines. We installed E303 cams, new
valve springs and lifters, all new gaskets, hoses, etc.

#3035 waits for paint... should it be
blue with white stripes or red with white stripes? Thanks Duane for
the body bucks blue prints! (click to enlarge the pictures) |

My 302 is all cleaned up and ready to be
installed! |

Daniel, our painter, is looking over the
FFR body's to see how much work he needs to do before painting the
cars. I'm trying to negotiate, but you just can't reason with
a guy who has a beer in his hand! |

My front end is done! |

My rear-end is now done! |

Number 3035 is a rolling chassis after
12 days! |

Galt starts 3036's front-end. |

Galt's front-end is done! |

Carl and Galt installing the rear-end of
3036. |

3036 is ready for wheels and tires! |

The cars are staged one in front of the
other, using shelves that carry each cars parts and boxes. In
the background, Juan is telling Carl how it should be done. |

Carl giving us instructions. Hey
Carl, do we get a Degree from Rice Street Performance in Cobra
building when we finish all 5 kits? |

Carl says, "Bill, be sure to get
ALL of the beer out of the tank or it will run funny!" |

My wife's "wheel painting
project" went very well! |

The stock Mustang wheels look very nice
with this paint job. Thanks Duane for the idea! |
