Thrown block?
Hope this hasn't been posted before (couldn't find it in a search).
I've seen plenty of carniage from thrown rods in the past. Those guys are chumps! How 'bout the whole block??? Check this out...

Here ya go. This is a land speed record vintage car with a model A motor running on Nitro. The top of the block has no remaining connection to the bottom. Note the number one piston pin is next to the big end of the rod. Not really the way it was manufactured. The nex picture is from our GMC motor. A little sample of what Nitro can do.

I agree nitro can do some awsome damage, but the block usually stays in the vehicle! WOW!

That was diesel engine no nitro just turbos pushing 200 psi
